Hello again from EnergyBell,

During these hot summer months all of our energy cost go up.  There are some simple ways to reduce your energy bill and increase your homes comfort with low cost energy solutions.

Keep the Heat out and the Cool air in!!!

One the biggest things you can do to help keep energy bills low and increase comfort of your home is to properly seal the home envelope.  Our past client already know that a properly sealed home is the fist step in making your home more energy efficient and comfortable  This can be achieved with simple low cost solutions such as caulking, caned spray foam and weather-stripping  With the blow door technology we can find all the areas of your home that have outdoor air penetration and leakage.

Here are the two most important hot weather energy tips that should always be done to save money and increase energy efficiency.

GET A CHECKUP

Dirt and neglect are the primary causes of system failure. Schedule an annual, pre-season maintenance checkup with a licensed contractor to ensure your cooling system is operating efficiently and safely. Be sure to clean or change your system's air filter according to its instructions-generally once a month. Keep it clean to keep it efficient.

SEAL THE DEAL

Don't let the hot air in and your cool air out. Find and seal air leaks that cause drafts and make your cooling system work overtime. You or a licensed contractor can follow ENERGY STAR Home Sealing recommendations to tighten your home's "envelope" - outer walls, ceiling, windows, and floors.

***Try and keep your thermostats about 76 degrees...every degree below this will cost you 3% more in cooling costs.
